Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
PhD (or foreign equivalent) in Neuroscience, Neuropharmacology, Pharmacology, or Molecular Biology. Experience with stereotaxic injections as evidenced by publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Preferred Qualifications:
Research experience in neuroscience and/or molecular biology.

Brief Description of Duties:
The Postdoctoral Associate will assist the Principal Investigator in the Department of Anesthesiology. The incumbent will conduct research in brain endocannabinoid signaling and ensure that all experiments are appropriately conducted following the policies and procedures of Stony Brook University. The Postdoctoral Associate will need to possess good interpersonal communication including competency in the English language. Efficient organization, time management skills, and interest in working in a collaborative research environment is essential for this role.

Within the predetermined research scope and methodology, conduct research experiments in the field of brain endocannabinoid signaling and transport.

Perform stereotaxic AAV injections.

Perform and/or prepare samples for immunofluorescence and electron microscopy.

Employ molecular biology techniques and biochemical approaches to generate protein expression reagents and purify proteins from mammalian cells

Prepare brain samples for mass spectrometry-based analysis of endocannabinoid levels

Collect and analyze data, including periodical/literature search and utilizing specialized skills in related field to analyze the collected data.

Participate/assist in manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals and/or presentations.

Other duties as assigned, which may include attending Scientific Conferences and Meetings.

The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
