The Department of Biology at Bucknell University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in neurobiology to begin August 2021. We expect to hire at the assistant professor level. The candidate will be expected to contribute to the interdisciplinary Neuroscience Program. We seek a committed educator with the desire to engage with undergraduates in the classroom and the research laboratory. A Ph.D. is required; candidates in the final stages of their dissertation will be considered but would have to complete the degree to continue employment after the first year. Postdoctoral experience is encouraged but not required. We welcome candidates who offer embodied diversity in all forms. The successful candidate will demonstrate inclusive pedagogical practices, and/or cultural conversance in the biology classroom. Evidence of the candidate's commitment to equity in both the classroom and in scholarly collaboration must be included in the application materials.

The position requires the ability and commitment to pursue a high-quality research program with potential emphasis in, but not limited to, molecular or cellular neurobiology. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a core course in molecular/cellular neurobiology with a fully-equipped electrophysiology laboratory for neuroscience majors and an upper-level course in neurobiology that would enhance the curricula in Neuroscience and Biology. The University is committed to mentoring new faculty and can provide support for the core course development. Other teaching responsibilities will include participation in the core biology courses or other courses that meet the general education goals of the University.
