Assistant, Associate, Full Professor: Molecular and Cellular Neurobiology

The Department of Neurosurgery at Stanford University seeks an exceptional basic or translational neuroscientist with proven track record in molecular and cellular neurobiology to join the Department as Assistant, Associate or Full Professor in the University Tenure Line (UTL) to expand the department's program in basic/translational research. A focus on basic and translational research in an area of molecular and cellular neurobiology is strongly desired.

The successful candidate will be a member of a strongly collaborative departmental and wider campus neuroscience community that is dedicated to support intellectual creativity. The successful candidate will be considered for membership in the Wu Tsai Neurosciences Institute of Stanford University, the Stanford Neurosciences Interdepartmental Program, the Stanford BioX and Neurotech Programs, the Center for Mind, Brain, Computation and Technology, and other dynamic entities that encourage and support training, mentoring and scholarly interactions across departments and schools on the Stanford campus.

The predominant criterion for appointment in the University Tenure Line is a major commitment to research and teaching.

Faculty rank and line will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

The successful applicant should have a PhD and/or MD degree and be actively engaged or show exceptional promise in a laboratory research program. Independent funding is seen as evidence of scholarly achievement/potential for independence.

The expected base pay range for this position is:

Rank Assistant: $177,000 - $202,000
Rank Associate: $209,000 - $236,000
Rank Professor: $253,000 - $285,000

This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It may not include all components of faculty compensation or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs. Stanford University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position.
