Job Description Summary
The Penn Memory Center is looking to hire a Clinical Research APP, to assist in or lead our clinical trials focusing on Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. In addition, the Clinical Research APP will assist the Penn Memory Center physicians in the care of their patients, including prescription management, triage clinical calls, manage family and patient queries, and patient evaluations. This Monday - Friday daytime position offers a great deal of independence to manage the care of your patients in a team setting.

As a Clinical Research APP in the Penn Memory Center, you will become a member of a collaborative multi-disciplinary team of neurologists, geriatricians, psychiatrists, social workers, neuropsychologists, and research coordinators who work together to develop innovative approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer's.

In this position you will challenge yourself on a daily basis as you develop your clinical skills and medical knowledge base by working with patients and families you will follow closely and with whom you will develop unique relationships

As a Clinical Research APP you will work on state of the art clinical trials and the PMC's Aging Brain Cohort and the Aging Brain Cohort Dedicated to Diversity studies, together including >500 participants followed annually. Duties for these studies include consenting, screening and enrolling eligible subjects, managing the treatment of patients throughout their study participation including education about any adverse effects they might experience, provide oversight and coordination of research testing and follow-up, perform neurologic and physical examinations and in some cases, administer experimental medications.

Qualifications:

Advanced Practice Provider with licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and 1 - 3 years; Master's Degree and 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Experience with a geriatric or memory impaired population is highly preferred.

Effective problem solving abilities, effective communication and writing skills, strong organizational skills; flexible/adaptable and able to multi-task; demonstrated ability to work as part of a team as well as independently; knowledge of IRB and human research protection regulations.
