The Department of Neuroscience & Regenerative Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia is committed to cutting-edge research and excellence in education. Our research addresses fundamental questions ranging from genetic, epigenetic, cellular and circuit regulation and tissue regeneration to pathophysiology of inflammaging, neurodegeneration, psychiatric disorders, CNS injuries using a broad repertoire of experimental approaches.

Job Summary
This position requires a high level of discretion due to confidential data for faculty, students, and staff. This position is assistant to the Chair of the Department of Neuroscience & Regenerative Medicine and responsible to ensure complance with institutional, state, and federal regulations; assist in travel for the department, coordinate and schedule meetings, manage and coordinate departmental seminar series including arranging guest speakers' talks and coordinating their itineraries, honorariums and travel expenses, assist in grant applications, collect materials for faculty annual evaluation and promotion & tenure, monitor and manage expenditure accounts belonging to the department, coordinate facility projects. Will assist the Department Administrator with employee leave.

Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to: Coordinates all activities for the Department Chair, including coordinating and scheduling meetings, travel arrangements, handling confidential correspondences, compiling confidential information for faculty evaluations/salary, etc. Manage and coordinate seminar series for the department. Assign speakers, coordinate their travel, honorariums, travel expenses, and itineraries. Coordinate faculty recruitment processes to include; Create and distribute itineraries, coordinate and schedule travels, etc. Coordinate departmental meetings: faculty meetings, committee meetings, symposiums, retreats etc. Collect and compile data and appropriate forms for annual evaluations and promotion and tenure as needed. Work with faculty to compile P&T portfolios. Assist Department Administrator with weekly & monthly leave and outside activity forms. Required Qualifications
Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and four years of progressively responsible administrative support experience OR a high school diploma/GED and seven years' progressively responsible experience in administrative support positions

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in student affairs, student services, or auxiliary services section of higher education; strong human resources ability; financial or budget aptitude.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Ability to maintain confidentiality; Detail-oriented; Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days; Monday - Friday

Pay Grade: 12

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
